parent teacher interviewsYour child (Grade 1-6) will bring home their Progress Report on Monday, November 4. This is an excellent time to monitor your child’s progress at school.

In the past, there has been a Professional Development (PD) Day to allow for Parent-Teacher interviews/conferences.  This year, there is not a day dedicated to Parent-Teacher interviews, however, as a staff we want to communicate with parents, student successes and challenges. This communication started with the comments within the Progress Report.

Further communication between home/school is encouraged. At any time of year, parents may request to talk and/or meet with their child’s teacher.  We encourage these times to be at mutually agreeable times. Write a note in your child’s planner, or call the school to arrange a phone call or meeting.

In Summary,

a)There is no PD Day dedicated to Parent-Teacher Interviews this year.

b) Parents may request communication and/or a meeting with teachers at any time of the year in order to stay informed about and engaged in their child’s progress.

c) Parents and teachers are encouraged to arrange these meetings at mutually agreeable times.

d) Staff are considering a formal Parent-Teacher Interview evening after the Term 1 Achievement Report is sent home (early February).

As always, please feel free to contact the office should you have any questions.

Together, we make a difference,

M. McMath
