January 14th, 2021
Due to the declaration of a provincial emergency and the extension of remote learning, we have heard from many families that they are experiencing difficulties in making a decision given these uncertain times. In an effort to be responsive to your concerns, we have extended the deadline for elementary families to request a change to their child’s mode of learning, either from in-person to distance learning or from distance learning to in-person.
Families can now request changes until 3:00 pm on Friday, January 29, 2021. It is our hope that we will have further clarification about the return to in-person learning from the Ministry of Education, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and our local Public Health Unit, by January 20, 2021 and that this will provide families with the important information they need to make the right decision for their children and their families.
If families have already submitted their request, but change their mind, we would encourage you to reach out to your school by January 29 indicating that you are requesting another change.
We will continue to share important updates and timelines with families as they become available.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding as we navigate these uncertain times together.
