On Monday, June 21st, the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is offering a full day of programming available for educators to enjoy alongside their students, featuring Indigenous authors, artists, dancers, Knowledge Keepers, and other special guests who will share their stories, cultures, and insights throughout the day. This will be an exceptional opportunity to spend the entire day participating in exciting learning for all ages, prepared especially for the WRDSB to learn from and celebrate Indigenous Champions of the Present. We hope that staff and students will welcome this opportunity to commemorate this important day in a meaningful and supportive way.

Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day

Through their classroom teachers, students will be invited to join in an amazing opportunity to participate in our Keynote Livestream with award-winning author, David A. Robertson.

When: Monday, June 21, 2021 starting at 10 am

WRDSB Staff who are interested in offering this opportunity for their students, or watching themselves, are invited to learn more at staff.wrdsb.ca/IndigenousHistoryMonth.

This event will appeal to everyone, from our youngest learners all the way up. An internationally acclaimed and prolific author, David A. Robertson will join us to reflect on his journey as an author while celebrating the power and beauty of Indigenous storytelling. We are fortunate to have many of his titles, in print and on Overdrive, in all WRDSB libraries (elementary and secondary).

Students and Staff: do you have a question for David A. Robertson?

We invite you to submit your questions here for a chance to participate in the interactive Q&A portion of the event. Please note: You will need to use your WRDSB Google Account to submit your questions.

Throughout National Indigenous History Month and beyond, we invite everyone to consider ways to continue listening, learning, reflecting, and taking action as treaty people.
